Language
- English, Swahili and tribal languages.
Climate
- The climate in Kenya is influenced by altitude and proximity
to the sea. The coast has a tropical climate (July and August
are cooler and less humid). Inland a more temperate climate
prevails. There are two rainy seasons - the long rains in
April and May and the short rains mid-November to mid-December.
Adventure - Kenya is a land of contrasts,
from imposing snow-capped mountains and white palm-fringed
beaches to lush plains and semi-desert.
Kenya, the birthplace of
the traditional safari, is well established for outstanding
game viewing and superb accommodation in lodges or tented
camps. After an exhilarating safari the white sand beaches
of the Indian Ocean may beckon -
and Mombasa, Watamu, Lamu can all be reached by air or overnight
train from Nairobi.
