Day 1 - Moshi
From Nairobi, travel to Moshi in Tanzania by shuttle bus
and spend the night in a hotel where your guide will give
a full briefing on what to expect from your Kilimanjaro
climb. Days 2 to 6 - Mt Kili trek, Marangu Route
Over the next five days attempt to climb
Africa’s highest
mountain, and each day trek between 5 - 7 hours and on day
four we depart in the early hours of the morning to reach
the summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m) by sunrise. Reaching the top
is a huge personal achievement and you will really feel that
you are standing on the ‘Roof of Africa’. Be
aware that you may need an extra acclimatization day for
the climb which is taken on the ascent at the Horombo hut.
After the descent return to Moshi.
Day 7 - Lake Manyara National Park
Spend the next three days exploring Tanzania’s most
famous game parks, beginning with the scenic Lake Manyara,
known for its tree climbing lion. Here you will also find
leopard, elephant and large numbers of flamingo which form
a pink fringe around the lake shore.
Day 8 - Serengeti National Park,
Olduvai Gorge
We explore the origins of man before
continuing to the Serengeti National Park, with its vast
plains and abundant wildlife, where you maybe lucky enough
to spot the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard.
Day 9 - Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro
Crater
One last morning game drive in the Serengeti before travelling
to the Ngorongoro Crater, a spectacular caldera that is a
World Heritage Site.
Day 10 - Ngorongoro Crater, Moshi
A morning’s game drive enables you to view some of the 30,000 animals that
live on the crater floor, and you have a great chance to see all of the Big 5.Travelling
back to Moshi, enjoy the views across the Great Rift Valley as we pass through
Masai villages.
Day 11 - Nairobi
From Moshi a shuttle bus takes you back to the starting point of Nairobi where
the tour ends. |
