Travel options

Day 1 - 2 - Antananarivo, Antsirabe, Manandona
We have a free day to explore Antananarivo before traveling to Antsirabe the following day. Famed for its healing thermal springs, gemstone merchants and elegant French architecture, we have time to explore this town before heading to the village of Manandona for an insight into the local culture.

Days 3 – 4 Ambositra, Ranomafana National Park, Sahambavy
Today we travel to Ranomafana National Park via the wood carving village of Ambositra. Ranomafana gives us the chance for our first glimpses of lemurs on a guided night trek and an early morning hike through dense rainforest. Afterwards we journey south to the plantations of Sahambavy to see how the leaves are processed into tea.

Days 5 – 9 Ranohira, Isalo National Park, Ifaty, Antananarivo
We visit the paper-making town of Ambalavao before crossing the wide plains to Isalo National Park, home to ring-tailed lemurs, chameleons and a series of weather-worn sandstone formations. Next we inspect the intricate tombs of the Mahafaly tribe on the way to the idyllic beaches of Ifaty. There’s time here to kick back on the white sands, snorkel or wander the surreal spiny forests nearby. We return to ‘Tana’, Madagascar’s capital, where our tour finishes.
