Language - Portuguese is the official language and English is widely spoken.

Climate - The coastal areas are generally hot and humid while the plateau and mountain areas enjoy a temperate climate.

Adventure - Long inaccessible to tourists, Mozambique's tourism industry is making a remarkable recovery. The Indian Ocean coastline is scattered with numerous islands and coves.

Here coastal resorts offer excellent opportunities for beachcombing, water-sports and seafood. A deep sea fishing expedition always produces some good-sized fish, including kingfish, mako, wahoo and yellowfin tuna.

On Bazaruto Island, hiking trails have been established and there is a national park and marine reserve at the north point with ideal conditions for underwater photography.
