Days 1 to 3 - Cairo, Pyramids and Sphinx
In Cairo, you are transferred from the airport to your hotel
and the following day visit Cairo’s famous Pyramids
and Sphinx at Giza and Saqqara with an Egyptologist. The
next day is free to explore the many other intriguing sites
such as the world class Egyptian Museum or you have the option
of going on a city tour. In the evening catch the first class
overnight train to Aswan.
Days 4 to 6 - Aswan, Felucca Cruise
Explore the sights around Aswan including the serene Philae
Temple, and take a gentle felucca (traditional Nile sailing
boat) trip around the many islands in the river. You can
also take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel to see the
incredible statues of Ramses, before hopping on our felucca
for our two night sailing trip along the Nile. Enjoy a
wonderfully relaxing and peaceful sail along the river
and a night out sleeping on deck. Leaving our felucca we
visit the Edfu & Komombo Temples a that lie in a splendid
riverside setting.
Days 7 to 9 - Luxor, West and East
Banks
In Luxor we explore the temples covered with hieroglyphics
on the east bank of the Nile, learn the stories of the
ancient Egyptian gods at an optional spectacular sound
and light show at the imposing Karnak temple, and go deep
into the exquisitely decorated pharaoh's rock-hewn tombs
in the valleys of the Kings and Queens. We have a free
day in Luxor to visit museums, market or simply to relax.
Days 10 to 13 - Dahab
After an overnight coach journey, arrive in Dahab for five
days on the beach enjoying the beautiful Red Sea. This
pearl of the gulf is a Bedouin village with golden sands,
turquoise sea and swaying palms. We include a snorkelling
trip to the Blue Hole, and a sunset camel ride. You can
also climb Mt. Sinai, and we offer the option of taking
a PADI diving course, or just an introductory dive.
Days 14 to 15 - Cairo
We arrive back into Cairo in the late afternoon and you are
transferred to the airport the following day for your onward
flight.
