8 Day Madagascar Dhow Sailing
Enjoy the island-hopping lifestyle in an exclusive-use dhow. Camp out on peaceful islands miles from civilization, snorkel with whale sharks, fish for game fish, laugh at lemurs and relax on unspoilt beaches - this is the ultimate paradise.
Day 1 - Nosy Be, Hell-ville
Upon arrival on the northern Madagascar island of Nosy Be you are met by the enigmatic captain and crew and transferred to accomodation in Hell-ville (which is not at all like the name suggests!), overlooking the ocean. Enjoy free time this evening in the welcoming town and perhaps dive into the markets or enjoy a local seafood dinner.
Days 2 to 7 - Island Cruising
Boarding our elegant dhow sailboat, we spend the next six days sailing among the Nosy Be archipelago, enjoying marine life and swimming, fishing, taking forest walks and camping on the beach. Our route depends on tides but typically we stop at some of the following places: Nosy Tanikely, a marine reserve with crystal-clear water; Nosy Komba, known for its friendly lemurs; Lokobie reserve for chameleons and more lemurs; and Nosy Iranja - the Island of Turtles. Meals are prepared with the freshest seafood - purchased from the local villagers or caught straight off the side of the boat! We aim to travel mostly under sail but have a motor if required.
Day 8 - Nosy Be
This morning we sail back to Hell-ville port and bid adieu to the crew around midday when the tour ends.
