7 Day Kruger, Swaziland & Durban

This diverse itinerary covers the highlights of KwaZulu Natal, Big 5 game viewing, Swazi culture, and the dramatic Drakensberg mountains.

This is an "Overland Adventure". What is Overlanding?

Days 1 to 2 - Blyde River Canyon, Kruger National Park

Leaving Johannesburg we enter Mpumalanga Province to explore the natural spectacles of Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck Potholes. Then it's on to our private game reserve bordering Kruger for our first night on safari. We enter the famed Kruger National Park each day for game drives. Kruger is South Africa's best known wildlife reserve, an enormous piece of wilderness which offers unrivalled opportunities for game viewing, including the Big 5 (leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino), good stocks of grazing animals - giraffe, zebra, antelope - and prolific birdlife.

Days 3 to 4 - Swaziland, Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary

We continue to Swaziland, the mountainous landlocked kingdom sandwiched snugly between Mozambique and South Africa. We spend two nights in the Big Game Parks area and check out Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, visit the Royal Enclosure and have time to browse local craft markets and factories.

Day 5 to 7 - KwaZulu-Natal, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, St. Lucia, Durban

We cross back into South Africa and enter KwaZulu-Natal (Zululand). We visit a local village on the way to the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve. After game-driving in South Africa's oldest reserve we continue to the wild beaches and natural beauty of St. Lucia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is an option to enjoy a boat cruise checking out the wildlife before we drive down the coast to the bright lights and beaches of Durban where our tour ends.
