Incorporating 'must see' areas of traditional sightseeing and highlighting the exceptional culture found in South Africa, this module travels from Gauteng (Johannesburg area) to the Mpumalanga Province, known for its scenic beauty and rich wildlife.

Day 1
You will be met on arrival at Johannesburg International Airport by a Welcome Tourism Services representative, handed your world-class documentation and assisted to the Europcar rental counter to collect your vehicle. Travel past or through the metropolis of Johannesburg into the countryside surrounding the city, to the cultural village of Lesedi. Experience the rich tapestry of five of the cultures of South Africa in a lively and real life environment. Accommodation is in rustic traditional huts, with modern-day conveniences.

A warm welcome to Protea Hotel Lesedi - Gauteng's most exciting showcase of African Culture. As the sun sets over the African bush, guests are escorted by the Cultural hosts of Lesedi for an experience of a lifetime and introduced to the art, dancing, history, tribal legend and cuisine of five of Southern Africa’s greatest tribes. The cultural program begins with a multi-visual presentation on the history and origins of today's rainbow nation, followed by a tour of four ethnic homesteads - Xhosa, Zulu, Pedi and Sotho. guests are then escorted to the Boma for traditional singing and dancing and the people of Lesedi tell stories that date back to the days of their ancestors. A traditional African-style feast is served in the restaurant, with a full bar close at hand. At the end of the evening, guests can either gather around the open fire and talk late into the night, or be escorted back to their cozy rooms by members of their host family.

Day 2
After breakfast and having relaxed in true African style, travel through the city of Pretoria on to Witbank, Middelburg, Machadodorp towards Nelspruit. The trip continues to Sabie, a small town nestled in the majestic Drakensberg escarpment. Lone Creek River Lodge is surrounded by unspoilt forests, mountain streams and waterfalls.

The 5-Star Lone Creek River Lodge nestles in the river valley outside the town of Sabie, embraced by majestic mountains and evergreen forests. Breathtaking views will greet you every morning from five exclusive hotel rooms and eight private suites. Both en-suite and fully serviced accommodation include DSTV, open fireplaces, and tea and coffee making facilities. Elegant timber cottages provide an exclusive self catering experience. A rock pool offers a relaxing therapy. Private BBQ's can be enjoyed on the wooden deck with built-in braai. Visits to the well-known waterfalls, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Pilgrim's Rest, Cheetah Project, Sudwala Caves and Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Project will engrave the Lowveld's Panorama Route on your heart forever.

Day 3
Today you may explore the Panorama Route with its scenic beauty and many historic sights including God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon. The trip follows the historic passes to the Lowveld and on to Hazyview. A highlight is the visit to Shangana Cultural Village. At night a huge cast of actors, dancers and singers present the history of the Shangaan through music, in a vibrant and captivating evening festival. A traditional dinner is included as part of the experience.

Day 4
Drive towards the Schoemanskloof Valley where Old Joe's Kaia Country Lodge is situated as the stepping stone to the splendors of the lowveld. The homestead with its verandah overlooking the valley, offers a feeling of total tranquility.

A comfortable and tranquil 3 star country lodge graced by magnificent mountain views, prolific bird life and Crocodile River frontage. A wonderful hideaway comprising log cabins, rondavels and kaia rooms situated amongst beautiful trees. Less than 3 hours from Johannesburg, Old Joe's Kaia is ideally positioned as a getaway or overnight stop en route to the region's game parks and attractions. Day 5
Today is your last day to explore this spectacular corner of South Africa before you travel via Nelspruit and Machadodorp to Johannesburg where you arrive in the late afternoon and return your rental vehicle in Johannesburg or at the International Airport.
