I think the Seychelles is a very unique beach destination. I have been to Zanzibar and Mombasa before, but I really enjoyed the Seychelles. I found there is a lot more to do activity-wise, and I love the fact that it is so easy to island hop.

After a long hard year away at university, the time had come for a family vacation. Egypt had been one of those places that my parents, my sister and I had often dreamed about visiting, so it was thus decided.

Last year, as an adventure before university, I joined the East African Explorer, an Acacia Overland safari from Johannesburg to Nairobi. I did not know quite what to expect, but over the course of this thrilling adventure I learned some important points for other prospective Overlanders.

This was my sixth visit to Africa and I cannot say how excited I was to be going back. The fam trip was only decided two weeks before I was to fly out but I find last minute trips sometimes are the best. A good friend of mine, Stephanie, who is an ESL teacher, was able to join me and this was her first trip to Africa. I was thrilled to show off Africa to her so that she can see why I have a passion for it and love it so much.

On a recent trip to Botswana in southern Africa I had a close encounter of the Buffalo kind - Cape Buffalo, that is.

This was my first trip to Africa as a travel agent, but I have been to Africa 2 previous times. In 1996 I went to Kenya for 3 months camping in pop up tents on a study in Africa program through Langara College.

It was August, the middle of the African winter when I joined a group of canoeists to conquer the mighty Zambezi River. The grass was brown, the trees bare and the midday heat was bearable. It's the perfect time for game viewing and camping - the rainy season only starts in October.
