Days 1 - Lake St Lucia, Sand Forest
Departing Durban we travel north into Zululand to Lake St. Lucia. Our first highlight is a boat cruise on one of the world’s largest wetland ecosystem which is a World Heritage Site. Look out for the many hippo and crocodile that inhabit the waters of the lake. This afternoon walk through a sand forest, wetlands and enjoy sundowners at the end of an action packed day.

Day 2 - Hluhluwe-Imfolozi
We game drive through the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s oldest and most prolific parks, home to the Big 5 and one third of the world’s rhino population.

Day 3 - Hluhluwe-Imfolozi, Durban
After an early morning and afternoon game drive on the look out for lion and cheetah we travel back to Durban and overnight in a lively hostel.

Day 4 - Valley of a Thousand Hills
From Durban, it’s a short drive to the Zulu stronghold of the Valley of a Thousand Hills. At a Zulu Village, you are met by a community guide who explains traditional Zulu customs and beliefs, and the night is spent in traditional village huts with spectacular views of the valley.

Day 5 - Drakensberg Mountains
We head into the awe-inspiring Drakensberg Mountains, where we stop at the Khotso farm for either a horse ride or a try at river tubing, before arriving at our picturesque accommodation.

Day 6 - Drakensberg Mountains
Spend the day hiking in the beautiful mountains, where valleys hide waterfalls and bushman rock paintings, and the crystal clear rivers offer opportunities to swim.

Day 7 - Lesotho, Durban
Head to Sani Pass, a tortuous and highly scenic road only accessible by 4x4 up to the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, and at the top visit a traditional Basotho Village and the highest pub in Africa. From the mountains, we return to Durban in the evening.
